Latest News (26/06/2023) - Thunderbird 102 / 115 Compatibility

The latest version of quickFilters is fully compatible with Thunderbird 102. If there are issues after installing or updating, please read the instructions here.

Thunderbird 115: I had to implement fundamental changes for Thunderbird 115 in order to stay compatible. Tb 115 is scheduled for release in July 2023 and has a completely new user interface called "Supernova". This required considerable work of rewriting all elements interacting with the main page (3pane) of Thunderbird (toolbar buttons, menus, folder tree, drag and drop handlers).

This work is now largely completed, except for a few minor items described below. You are highly encouraged to participate in the funding by buying a quickFilters Pro license.

If you are interested in trying out the latest version for the next generation of Thunderbird, please check this Github issue for pre-releases, these are made available there for testing. Scroll down for latest version! To be notified of related news automatically, leave a comment or like there.

Why did quickFilters go Pro?

In order to support the ongoing improvement of this mail addon, I have decided to offer a professional version of quickFilters in which some additional "power" features will be added. This is necessary as my country of residence just got so expensive due to additional taxes (water, house tax) and my wife had to give up her job as nurse due to health reasons. I am still investing a large portion of my free time to the development of addon code in the mail sphere and I would like to continue doing so in the future.

I have decided that the best way forward would be to use the freemium model which offers two versions, one for free which has standard features and shows the donation link whenever the software is updated and a registered professional version which asks for small fee in order to fund development and support.

Please support the future of quickFilters and enjoy unlimited Premium Features. You can purchase a license from quickFilters options, using the quickFilters Pro tab. It's super easy and helps future proof this Add-on. You can use quickFilters Pro on as many Thunderbird installations as you like as long as it has your registered email address on it.

You can buy a license directly from the quickFilters Pro tab in the settings dialog:

All dates are displayed in UK format: dd/mm/yyyy - you can request any version that is marked as not released or any old version listed; simply send me a personal email from the quickFilters Options dialog, on the Support tab - [(Jump to Screen Shot)].

Thunderbird 68 support ended on thunderbird.net

Unfortunately thunderbird.net does not accept updates for legacy versions anymore - they only support the new "Mail extension" format and our "mail extension with experimental APIs" which is a workaround for missing advanced features.

From of version 4.6 forward you have to install such legacy versions from the github releases page.
